Dear members of the scientific community,

especially those working in mathematical physics and related fields, we are pleased to invite you to The third International Conference on

Superintegrable Systems in Classical and Quantum Mechanics – Prague 2008

which is organized by the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering, Czech Technical University Prague. It will be held in Prague, Czech Republic, from May 5 till May 9, 2008. The first Workshop on superintegrable systems was organized by the Centre de recherches mathematiques, Universite de Montreal in 2002. The second conference was organized by the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research and was held in Dubna from June 27 to July 1, 2005.
The idea of this conference is to bring physicists and mathematicians, who made major contributions in the theory of superintegrable systems and related topics such as the separation of variables, quadratic algebras, exact and quasi-exact solvability and others, together. The programme of the Workshop will consist of 40 minute talks with sufficient time for discussions. We do not plan any parallel sessions. The lectures start on Monday, May 5, at 10 a.m. and end on Friday, May 9 in the afternoon. The arrival day is Sunday, May 4 and the departure of participants is expected on Saturday, May 10, 2008.

The preliminary scientific program

includes the following topics:
  • Superintegrability and multiseparability,
  • Superintegrability and supersymmetry,
  • Superintegrability and path integrals,
  • Integrability and superintegrability without the separation of variables in configuration space,
  • Superintegrable systems in discrete and noncommutative quantum mechanics,
  • Superintegrability and exact and quasi-exact solvability,
  • Superintegrability and Nambu mechanics,
  • New approaches in the search for superintegrable systems,
  • Perturbations of superintegrable systems,
  • Polynomial algebras of integrals of motion,
  • Superintegrability and bi-Hamiltonian systems,
  • and other related topics.

The exact information about the proceedings will be available soon.

Travel and Tourist information

It is very easy to get from the airport to the Krystal hotel (use public transport, direct bus No. 119, direction Dejvická, see this scheme and transfer at the stop Divoká Šárka to the tram 20 or 26, continue in the same direction to the stop named Nad Džbánem, the Krystal hotel is located two minutes walk in the direction of travel on the right hand side, visible from the road; at night between 01-05 a.m. you can use bus 510 and tram 51, see this scheme). You can download the map of Prague city center suitable for sightseeing here.

If you plan to go from the Krystal hotel to the Conference site Břehová 7, go to the tram stop "Nad Džbánem", take tram 26 to the "Strossmayerovo náměstí", change to tram 17 and get out at the stop "Právnická fakulta". Follow the tram tracks by foot (keeping travel direction), after one minute walk you are there.
The second possibility is to take tram 20 or 26 from "Nad Džbánem" to the "Vítězné náměstí", change to the metro A (green line) and get out at the station "Staroměstská". After using the escalator go ahead and then turn to the right at the crossing and follow tram tracks. It is about five minute walk to the conference site Břehová 7, CZ-115 19, Prague 1.

Remember: if you plan to use a taxi in Prague then: never pay in advance, always ask for a bill, before you board check the price which must be written on the car door, after boarding make sure taxi-meter is turned on and properly running.
