The current website status

The contemporary system of on-line presentation of the Department of Mathematics dates its origin to the year 2011. The author of the content management system is Karel Klouda, Ph.D. A remarkable part of the web page preparation was the competition for the new logo of the Department of Mathematics, which was launched and organized by Ľubomíra Balková, Ph.D. Furthermore, Radek Fučík, Ph.D., was appointed the main administrator, yet more employees of the Department of Mathematics are responsible for the content of individual portions of the website.

The logo of the Department of Mathematics

The logo of the Department of Mathematics decorating this website is a result of a public contest, in which the victorious logo stood against a very strong competition. Among the people to participate were both students and employees of the Faculty of Nuclear Science and Physical Engineering. The presentations of the final propositions and the defence of artistic intentions were held on May 6, 2011 in the Study Hall. The chairman of the jury was the head of the department, associate professor Jan Mareš, and the honorary chairman was the former head of the department, professor Miloslav Havlíček. After the competitors explained their artistic intentions, a general voting took place and then the voting of the jury. Both of the votes had the same winner – the team of Ms. Žáková, Mr. Chevko and Mr. Kysela.
